Sometimes a full home remodel starts with plans to renovate the entire house. Other times, it begins with something as simple as replacing a few kitchen cabinets.
For Teresa, it was the latter.
When she first hired Premiere Builders for her home in the Concord Groves area of Dunedin, FL, the original plan was relatively straightforward: update the kitchen cabinetry. But once Teresa began looking at what could be accomplished, the project quickly grew.
“I hired Premiere Builders to just actually do the kitchen cabinet, and then I realized, oh, I’m going to do more in this house,” Teresa explained.
Soon, a cabinet project became a new kitchen. The kitchen renovation expanded into the bathrooms. Popcorn ceilings came down, layouts changed, fixtures were updated, and before long, the project had become what Teresa described as a “full-blown remodel.”
The result is a home that feels dramatically different while still retaining the personality that makes it Teresa’s. From the blue-and-white kitchen to redesigned bathrooms and updated finishes throughout the interior, Premiere Builders helped turn a series of renovation ideas into one cohesive full home remodel.
The kitchen was the starting point for the entire renovation.
Originally, Teresa expected Premiere Builders to work primarily on the cabinetry. But as the planning process progressed, it became clear there was an opportunity to do much more with the room.
“We decided we were going to do the kitchen all totally over,” she said.
That meant moving beyond cosmetic updates. A wall was removed, the cabinetry was completely redone, and the kitchen was rebuilt with an entirely new look.
The finished space is now brighter, more open, and considerably more functional. Instead of treating the kitchen as an isolated room, the remodel allows it to feel more connected to the surrounding living areas.
At the center of the new kitchen is a substantial island that provides additional countertop space, storage, and seating. With room for several stools, the island creates a natural place for casual meals, conversation, or entertaining guests while food is being prepared.
The open layout makes the kitchen feel like part of the home rather than simply a room used for cooking.
One of the strongest aspects of Teresa’s finished kitchen is that it does not feel generic.
The remodel combines soft blue lower cabinetry with white upper cabinets, creating contrast without making the space feel dark. Black hardware adds definition to the cabinetry, while stainless-steel appliances provide a clean, contemporary finish.
White countertops continue across the perimeter cabinetry and large center island, helping keep the room bright. The light surfaces also allow Teresa’s colorful dishes, artwork, and accessories to become part of the overall design.
Glass-front upper cabinets provide another opportunity to display those pieces rather than hiding everything behind solid doors. Floating shelves add additional display space and help break up the cabinetry around the kitchen window.
Instead of stripping away Teresa’s personality in pursuit of a completely neutral remodel, the finished kitchen provides a cleaner backdrop for it.
That balance is particularly visible around the cooking area, where white cabinetry and a patterned backsplash frame the range and stainless-steel hood. The backsplash adds visual interest while tying together the white, blue, black, and stainless elements used throughout the kitchen.
The finished result feels updated without looking like every other remodeled kitchen.
A successful kitchen remodel needs to accomplish more than improving how the room photographs. It should make the space easier and more enjoyable to use every day.
Removing a wall gave Premiere Builders the ability to reconsider how Teresa’s kitchen interacted with the rest of the home. The expanded layout provides additional sightlines and makes the kitchen feel larger.
The center island also adds a significant amount of usable workspace. Rather than relying only on perimeter countertops, Teresa now has a large central surface for food preparation, serving, and everyday activities.
Around the perimeter, the sink sits beneath the window and is paired with a distinctive brushed-gold faucet and dark undermount sink. The combination adds warmth and contrast against the white countertop and light backsplash.
Pendant lights positioned above the island help define the space while providing additional illumination. Recessed lighting supplements the pendants and keeps the overall room bright.
Storage was also incorporated throughout the new design, including upper and lower cabinetry, taller cabinet sections, glass-front display cabinets, and floating shelving.
Together, those changes turned what began as a cabinetry update into a much more comprehensive kitchen renovation.
Once the kitchen renovation was underway, Teresa began looking at the rest of the house differently.
“We then followed through the house and realized, oh, the bathrooms needed it,” she recalled.
That realization changed the scope of the project.
Instead of completing a new kitchen while leaving other outdated areas untouched, Teresa decided to continue the renovation throughout the home. Premiere Builders was able to carry the improvements into the bathrooms and other interior areas so the finished house would feel cohesive.
Teresa summed up the extent of the project simply: “They touched everything.”
That is an important distinction in a full home remodel. Updating multiple rooms as part of one larger project provides an opportunity to think about the house as a whole rather than completing a collection of unrelated renovations over time.
The bathrooms received more than surface-level improvements.
According to Teresa, cabinetry was replaced and the layout itself was changed. In one of the bathrooms, the toilet was relocated from its previous position, allowing the room to be reorganized around the homeowner’s needs.
Another major improvement was the transition from a single vanity to a double vanity.
“Got double vanities opposed to single vanities,” Teresa explained.
The finished vanity provides two separate sinks within one large countertop, giving two people the ability to use the bathroom simultaneously. Dark fixtures and faucets contrast with the white countertop, while a warm wood vanity introduces a natural element into the room.
A large black-framed mirror continues the modern styling without making the bathroom feel overly formal.
These kinds of changes illustrate the difference between simply refreshing a bathroom and remodeling it. Moving fixtures and reconsidering the vanity configuration allowed Premiere Builders to address how the room functions, not merely how it looks.

Some of the most impactful changes in a full home remodel are not necessarily the most dramatic.
Teresa specifically mentioned removing the home’s popcorn ceilings as part of the project.
“Took down the popcorn ceilings,” she said.
Removing an older ceiling texture can significantly change how an interior feels, particularly when it is combined with updated lighting, cabinetry, flooring, walls, and finishes. Instead of having newly renovated rooms beneath an older ceiling treatment, the renovation could feel consistent from floor to ceiling.
That attention to the surrounding details helped connect the kitchen and bathroom projects to the rest of the house.
Rather than appearing as though one or two rooms had simply been replaced, the improvements became part of a larger transformation.
One of the most interesting parts of Teresa’s Dunedin remodeling project is how naturally its scope evolved.
There was no initial plan to renovate virtually everything.
It started with kitchen cabinets.
Then came the decision to completely redo the kitchen. Removing a wall opened new possibilities for the layout. Once the kitchen was being transformed, the bathrooms became an obvious next step. Bathroom layouts were reconsidered, cabinetry was replaced, double vanities were added, and the home’s popcorn ceilings were removed.
What could have been a small standalone project ultimately became an opportunity to update the house in a much more complete way.
That approach also allowed the improvements to complement one another. The modernized kitchen does not feel disconnected from the bathrooms or other updated areas because the renovation was ultimately considered as one larger project.
The transformation has also been immediately noticeable to people visiting the finished home.
“Everybody that’s come in here so far thinks, ‘Oh my God, this is amazing,’” Teresa said.
The photographs of Teresa’s completed renovation reveal something important about the finished project: the house still feels personal.
The kitchen is modern, but it is not sterile. Colorful dishes are visible through glass cabinet doors. Artwork and decorative pieces occupy the floating shelves. Bright accessories contrast against the blue and white cabinetry. The gold-toned kitchen faucet adds another layer of warmth.
Those details make the renovation feel lived in rather than staged.
A good full home remodel does not necessarily require removing everything that gives a house character. Instead, updated layouts, cabinetry, surfaces, lighting, and fixtures can provide a new foundation for the homeowner’s existing personality and style.
That is particularly evident here.
Teresa’s home received extensive updates, but the finished rooms still clearly belong to her.
For homeowners considering remodeling several areas of their house, Teresa’s project demonstrates how quickly one renovation can reveal opportunities elsewhere.
Sometimes it makes sense to begin with one room. In other cases, homeowners may decide that completing several projects together creates a more cohesive result and avoids living through multiple separate renovations.
For Teresa, expanding the scope proved to be the right decision.
“It’s beautiful. I love it,” she said.
Her experience with Premiere Builders was positive enough that she is already thinking about a future home.
“I can’t wait to, in three or four years, sell it and buy something else and do it all over again with Premiere Builders.”
What began as a kitchen cabinet project ultimately became a full home remodel incorporating a completely redesigned kitchen, wall removal, new cabinetry, bathroom renovations, plumbing-layout changes, double vanities, popcorn ceiling removal, and updated finishes throughout the house.
For homeowners in Dunedin and throughout the Tampa Bay area considering a kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, or full home renovation, Premiere Builders provides a single remodeling team capable of taking a project from an initial idea through a much larger transformation.
Teresa’s project is a perfect example of what can happen when that initial idea becomes something more.

After our home was severely damaged by flooding from hurricane Helene, we were overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Thankfully, we found Shalom with Premiere Builders and he turned a nightmare into a fresh start. From the beginning, his team was professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Despite the challenges of a post-storm rebuild, they stayed on schedule and within budget. Now, our home looks even better than it did before the hurricane. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable, skilled remodeling company.

Jonathan and his team remodeled my kitchen in a 100+ year old Craftsman bungalow in Hyde Park Tampa. It included removing a wall, building high-end custom cabinets to match the existing ones, new countertops and some amazing millwork. Attention to detail was very important and the carpenter was an artist. The kitchen is now the centerpiece of the home. Jonathan's team is professional and highly skilled. I highly recommend them.

Working with shimi was pure bliss! My husband and I recently bought our forever home. An 4000 sqft home in Tampa but it needed a complete remodel of 4 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. The original home architecture and design was pretty outdated, and we wanted something more modern, and high-end. Premier builders&remodeling was recommended to us by a close friend who he built a beautiful custom home . After meeting Shimi for the first time we knew he was our guy, so we didn’t even interview other contractors. Working with Shimi and his crews was stress-free, of course, we ran into issues while building, but we know it is part of the construction. What was amazing to us is that Shimi always took responsibility and took care of problems on the spot. This has been the best experience we have had with a contractor. He was very thorough, professional and paid attention to the smallest detail. Everyone I came across was professional and worked well together as a team. I would recommend Shimi and company to anyone who cares for working with detail-oriented and reliable professionals. Thank you again!!
