Modern Living, Historic Charm: A Full Home Renovation in South Tampa

When Mike purchased his 1940s home in South Tampa, Florida, he knew it had soul—but it also needed serious updates. Decades of wear, outdated design, and structural limitations made the home feel less like a sanctuary and more like a project. But Mike had a clear vision: to completely transform the property while keeping the character that made it special.

That dream became reality with the help of Premiere Builders, a team known across Tampa Bay for turning dated properties into stunning, livable spaces through full home renovations tailored to each client’s goals and lifestyle.

Why a Full Home Renovation Was the Right Move in South Tampa

Older homes like this one, built in the 1940s, often come with solid construction—but they also reflect the design norms of a different era. Mike’s home had closed-off spaces, inefficient layouts, and worn-out materials that no longer fit the way people live today. Instead of tackling one room at a time, Mike and Premiere Builders agreed: this called for a complete home remodel—inside and out.

From the living room and dining areas to the balcony, staircase, and full exterior façade, every part of the house was included in the plan. The goal was to create a home that honored its roots while fully aligning with modern needs and style.

Working With Premiere Builders: Comfort, Trust, and Transparency

One of the most powerful elements of this project wasn’t just the transformation—it was the client experience.

Mike didn’t feel like just another customer. Throughout the renovation, the Premiere Builders team, led by project manager Danes, prioritized open communication, transparency, and thoughtful collaboration.

Mike recalls being consistently updated on timelines and steps, noting how the team always made him feel at ease. Instead of worrying about what might go wrong, he was able to focus on the excitement of what was being created—a place that finally felt like home.

Interior Remodeling Highlights – A Full Home Makeover

As part of the full home renovation, several interior spaces were transformed with dramatic results:

Living Room Remodel: Once dark and closed-off, the living room was opened up with new flooring, lighting, and structural enhancements. The space now feels bright, welcoming, and ideal for relaxing or entertaining.
Dining Room Renovation: Walls were reconfigured to create better flow, and modern finishes were added to bring warmth and elegance to the heart of the home. The result is a space that feels both upscale and cozy.
Staircase Upgrade: The staircase, which had been dated and visually disconnected from the rest of the home, was reimagined with sleek lines and modern materials that now serve as a design focal point.

Each space was designed not just for beauty, but for function—maximizing storage, improving layout, and ensuring day-to-day comfort.

Outdoor Curb Appeal – Exterior Renovation in South Tampa

No full home renovation is complete without upgrading the exterior. For Mike, the goal was to breathe new life into the home’s South Tampa curb appeal—and Premiere Builders delivered.

Balcony Remodel: The upstairs balcony was fully refinished to become a quiet space for coffee or evening reflection—adding both lifestyle value and resale appeal.
Exterior Renovation: Faded paint, dated materials, and worn siding were replaced with fresh, modern finishes. The transformation is striking: from overlooked to eye-catching.
Before and After: The visual contrast between the original exterior and the new look is remarkable. Where once stood a tired 1940s structure, now stands a crisp, clean, and contemporary home that feels new, without losing its roots.

A Client-Centered Remodeling Experience

Mike speaks highly of his experience with the Premiere Builders team. While quality construction was expected, what surprised him most was the feeling of partnership. He didn’t feel “managed”—he felt supported.

From choosing materials to making layout decisions, Mike had input at every stage. The team offered expert opinions but also listened intently, making sure every element reflected his vision.

The most meaningful feedback from Mike? He said it felt easy—not just because of the team’s skill, but because of the way they made him feel throughout the process. That sense of comfort and trust is at the core of every successful Premiere Builders project.

After our home was severely damaged by flooding from hurricane Helene, we were overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Thankfully, we found Shalom with Premiere Builders and he turned a nightmare into a fresh start.

From the beginning, his team was professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Despite the challenges of a post-storm rebuild, they stayed on schedule and within budget. Now, our home looks even better than it did before the hurricane.
I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable, skilled remodeling company.

Jonathan and his team remodeled my kitchen in a 100+ year old Craftsman bungalow in Hyde Park Tampa. It included removing a wall, building high-end custom cabinets to match the existing ones, new countertops and some amazing millwork. Attention to detail was very important and the carpenter was an artist. The kitchen is now the centerpiece of the home. Jonathan's team is professional and highly skilled. I highly recommend them.

Premier Builders & Remodeling Project Manager, Shimi, did great at maintaining several crews to do a complete remodel on a 1920s wooden bungalow. They were open to my design ideas and capable of problem solving to ensure every bit of space was maximized with owner input. Craftsmanship has been top notch.

‏Working with shimi was pure bliss! My husband and I recently bought our forever home. An 4000 sqft home in Tampa but it needed a complete remodel of 4 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. The original home architecture and design was pretty outdated, and we wanted something more modern, and high-end. Premier builders&remodeling was recommended to us by a close friend who he built a beautiful custom home . After meeting Shimi for the first time we knew he was our guy, so we didn’t even interview other contractors. Working with Shimi and his crews was stress-free, of course, we ran into issues while building, but we know it is part of the construction. What was amazing to us is that Shimi always took responsibility and took care of problems on the spot. This has been the best experience we have had with a contractor. He was very thorough, professional and paid attention to the smallest detail. Everyone I came across was professional and worked well together as a team. I would recommend Shimi and company to anyone who cares for working with detail-oriented and reliable professionals. Thank you again!!

Premiere Builders completed a FANTASTIC 2-story addition to our pre-existing mid-century home!
From Jonathan, Shalom, & Yaron in the back office, to Rudy, Cristian & the rest of them team in our home, we couldn't be more pleased!

Premiere Builders helped us obtain permitting for a BEAUTIFUL living/dining room addition, as well as 2nd story deck & covered entryway. They HAND-CUT custom wood stairs with stunning paint & stain, and opened up our dated, carpeted stairway to create a bright, modern new living space!

Professional, courteous, and efficient are all terms I would use to describe this team of genuine individuals. We would work with them again in a heartbeat!
