When a powerful Florida storm tore through St. Petersburg, one local family was left with more than just cleanup — their home had suffered major damage that rendered key living areas completely unusable. The kitchen ceiling had collapsed, water had soaked the living room flooring, and structural repairs were necessary throughout the interior. Understandably overwhelmed, the homeowners turned to Premiere Builders, a trusted name in home remodeling across Tampa known for handling projects with care, clarity, and full-service support.

What began as a storm recovery project quickly became a full interior transformation. From the kitchen to the bathrooms and living spaces, Premiere Builders helped this family not only repair the damage, but reimagine their home with modern, durable upgrades designed to stand the test of time and Florida’s weather.

Kitchen Restoration After Storm Damage

The kitchen was the hardest-hit room in the house. After the storm, the ceiling had caved in due to prolonged water exposure, and most of the original cabinetry, flooring, and overhead lighting were beyond repair. Safety was a serious concern—exposed wiring, moisture, and weakened supports meant the space couldn’t be used in its current condition.

Premiere Builders got to work immediately, starting with debris removal and structural remediation. Once the moisture issues and insulation damage were handled, the team reframed the ceiling and replaced all drywall and overhead electrical. From there, they reimagined the entire layout—making it brighter, more functional, and much more open. A new center island became the anchor point of the design, perfect for food prep and family gatherings. Storm-resistant materials were chosen for everything from flooring to fixtures. Neutral tones and modern finishes gave the room a clean, timeless appeal.

The result is a completely transformed kitchen—no longer just restored, but reinvented. Today, this kitchen is one of the highlights of the home: sleek, safe, and ready for anything.

Living Room Remodel – From Flooded to Fabulous

In the living room, the damage was equally devastating. Leaks from the roof caused the ceiling to sag and the drywall to warp. The carpeted flooring had absorbed water and mold had begun to form in some areas. Despite being a central part of the home with beautiful backyard views, the space had become dark, uncomfortable, and closed-off.

Rather than simply patching up what was damaged, Premiere Builders proposed a more impactful redesign. The ceiling was fully reconstructed, and all compromised drywall was replaced. Waterproof luxury vinyl plank flooring was installed to protect against future storms while also offering a modern look. Natural light was brought in by enlarging the rear windows, enhancing the view of the pool area and drawing the outdoors in.

Soft, coastal colors helped lighten the space visually, while updated baseboards and trim added a finished, cohesive look. The new living room now feels significantly more spacious, with a fresh, inviting atmosphere perfect for both quiet family evenings and entertaining guests.

Master Bathroom & Guest Bath Remodel

Once the major living areas were well underway, the homeowners made the decision to include both the master bathroom and guest bathroom in the scope of the remodel. The original bathrooms had suffered some minor storm wear, but more importantly, they were outdated and no longer suited the family’s aesthetic or functional needs.

In the master bath, the Premiere Builders team replaced the small, cramped shower with a walk-in tile shower featuring a frameless glass door and a rainfall showerhead. Large-format tiles were selected to create a spa-like feel, while the natural-toned flooring added warmth and comfort underfoot. A new double vanity with soft-close cabinetry and upgraded LED lighting completed the modern design.

The guest bathroom was renovated to match the style of the master, using a simplified layout that didn’t sacrifice quality. A refreshed tub-shower combo with clean, re-tiled walls created an elegant focal point. New fixtures, a compact modern vanity, and calming color tones helped unify the look across both spaces. Together, the bathrooms now reflect a consistent design language—elevated, functional, and fresh.

Before & After Transformation

Perhaps the most powerful part of this project is the visible transformation it delivered. The home’s original interior, battered by the storm, once carried signs of distress in every room. Ceilings had collapsed, water stains lined the walls, and entire rooms felt like reminders of what had been lost.

But after the remodel, each space tells a story of recovery and resilience. The kitchen that was once unusable is now a centerpiece for the family. The living room has gone from waterlogged to wide open. And both bathrooms reflect the kind of calm and comfort that every homeowner deserves. Premiere Builders not only repaired the damage—they turned this house into a dream home.

Why This Remodel Meant So Much to the Homeowner

For this family, the project wasn’t just about making the house livable again. It was about regaining peace of mind. After a traumatic event like a major storm, the emotional impact of restoring your home can be just as important as the physical work.

In their own words, the homeowner shared: “I was overwhelmed when I saw the damage. But Premiere Builders made the process so smooth. I felt like I had a partner the whole way through. And the result… it honestly looks better than before the storm.”

That sense of trust and partnership is a hallmark of the Premiere Builders experience. From the initial walk-through to the final walkthrough, every detail is handled with care. The project management, communication, and craftsmanship all come together to create something lasting—both in the physical space and in the relationship with the homeowner.

After our home was severely damaged by flooding from hurricane Helene, we were overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Thankfully, we found Shalom with Premiere Builders and he turned a nightmare into a fresh start.

From the beginning, his team was professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Despite the challenges of a post-storm rebuild, they stayed on schedule and within budget. Now, our home looks even better than it did before the hurricane.
I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable, skilled remodeling company.

Jonathan and his team remodeled my kitchen in a 100+ year old Craftsman bungalow in Hyde Park Tampa. It included removing a wall, building high-end custom cabinets to match the existing ones, new countertops and some amazing millwork. Attention to detail was very important and the carpenter was an artist. The kitchen is now the centerpiece of the home. Jonathan's team is professional and highly skilled. I highly recommend them.

‏Working with shimi was pure bliss! My husband and I recently bought our forever home. An 4000 sqft home in Tampa but it needed a complete remodel of 4 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. The original home architecture and design was pretty outdated, and we wanted something more modern, and high-end. Premier builders&remodeling was recommended to us by a close friend who he built a beautiful custom home . After meeting Shimi for the first time we knew he was our guy, so we didn’t even interview other contractors. Working with Shimi and his crews was stress-free, of course, we ran into issues while building, but we know it is part of the construction. What was amazing to us is that Shimi always took responsibility and took care of problems on the spot. This has been the best experience we have had with a contractor. He was very thorough, professional and paid attention to the smallest detail. Everyone I came across was professional and worked well together as a team. I would recommend Shimi and company to anyone who cares for working with detail-oriented and reliable professionals. Thank you again!!
