South Tampa Full Home Renovation: From Patio to Luxury Dining Room & More
When Daryl reached out to Premiere Builders in South Tampa, he had a vision—but no clear plan—on how to transform his home. What started as a simple idea to convert a back patio into a fully enclosed dining room soon blossomed into a complete home renovation, including custom wood ceiling beams, limewashed brick, upgraded bar and bookshelf features, and a stunning living room transformation.
With the help of project manager Jonathan, Daryl’s 1940s house was completely reimagined—carefully preserving its charm while adding a new layer of modern luxury.
Closing in the Back Patio to Build a Luxury Dining Room
The first challenge for the team was taking what was once an open-air patio and converting it into a livable, luxurious space that seamlessly blended with the rest of the home.
The goal: Create a glass-enclosed dining room that felt bright, open, and elegant—without feeling like an afterthought.
From the very beginning, Daryl emphasized how important it was for the room to feel integrated into the existing architecture. Premiere Builders listened closely. The team added floor-to-ceiling windows, natural wood ceiling beams, and elegant finishes that elevated the space while staying consistent with the home’s historical style.
“I didn’t want it to feel like an add-on,” Daryl explained. “Now it feels like it was always meant to be there.”
Living Room, Bar & Bookcase Renovation
Once the dining room was underway, Daryl decided to keep going.
Premiere Builders moved into the living room, where they restructured the entertainment bar area, upgraded the built-in bookcases, and refreshed the entire space with clean trim lines and new finishes.
They didn’t just aim to make it “new”—they made it better. The ceiling beams were repeated in the living room to tie both spaces together. Light was maximized through newly installed windows, and the updated fireplace surround now serves as a central feature.
Daryl couldn’t believe the difference:
“It’s the same square footage, but it feels completely different now. Warmer, more open, and just incredibly well done.”
Original 1940s Brickwork, Limewashed & Modernized
One of the home’s most distinct features was its original red brick exterior from the 1940s. Rather than cover it up or replace it, Jonathan and the team proposed a limewash treatment—a subtle but transformative technique that lightens the look of old brick without erasing its character.
The result? A brighter, cleaner exterior that maintains the charm and craftsmanship of the home’s original structure.
Why This Project Meant So Much to the Homeowner
What made this project stand out wasn’t just the craftsmanship or attention to detail—it was the level of care Daryl felt throughout the process.
“I felt really comfortable every step of the way,” Daryl said. “There was never any pressure. Jonathan listened to everything I had to say. I always knew what was happening next.”
That level of trust is what Premiere Builders prides itself on, especially for large projects like full home renovations. From weekly updates to on-site walkthroughs, the team made sure Daryl felt fully supported.
“They didn’t just build me a better home. They gave me peace of mind.”
A Seamless Transformation that Feels Meant to Be
What began as a modest project to reclaim a back patio grew into something far more meaningful—a transformation that not only changed the physical space but elevated how Daryl and his family live in their home.
By focusing on natural light, flow between rooms, and timeless materials like reclaimed wood and original brick, the result is a home that feels both modern and rooted in history. It’s a rare balance—and one that Premiere Builders has carefully mastered.
Perhaps the greatest compliment? Visitors constantly ask if this is a new home.
The answer, of course, is no. But thanks to smart design choices and a team that truly listened, it certainly feels like one.
